About the University of Thiqar

The University of Thiqar was established in 2000 in the city of the Prophet Ibrahim (as). Today, the university includes twenty scientific and humanitarian colleges. The total number of undergraduate students is more than 20,000, are divided into 74 departments. the number of postgraduate students is more than 700.  they are divided into (39) scientific departments. Academic staff is more than 1000 members with different scientific titles and specializations. University of Thiqar includes five research centers that have provided many studies and service activities. Among these centers, our Center (Marshes Research Center). Also, it includes important research units that have supported the scientific research in the southern region of Iraq especially, in the province of Thiqar. University of Thiqar has also achieved scientific partnerships in the field of scholarship and scientific cooperation through agreements and memoranda of understanding.
